Are you ready for five days of relaxed adventure? This is the goods! Beaches, mangroves, and the dappled waters of the Sea of Cortez set the stage for you to engage your body and lift your spirit. Your journey to Basecamp Mexico is designed to help you slow down, connect to the stillness of this place, and explore what's possible when you catch yourself in the act of being yourself. Oh yeah, there is more!
This program is designed for the kid in you who, despite grownup success, is still curious about what it might be like to show up different in the world. Whether you're ready to navigate a challenge at work, re-tool your sense of how you make a difference, or simply hit the pause button to think about what's next, this retreat will give you space to find answers to questions you've been waiting to ask.

The Design
This retreat a journey to the edge of knowing yourself at a new level. You will be drawn both literally and metaphorically into the open. Our remote island basecamp provides inspiration and personal space for discovery.
Whether sharing a Sonoran barbecue around the fire, exploring a tidal estuary, or kayaking the waters of the Island, you will find yourself coming up with ideas you didn't know you were ready to have. Our island retreat has just enough things to do—and the time you need to let nature help you do nothing. Our coaches are there to help you make use of this physical and mental landscape, one that can bring you to new awareness. Because the horizon looks bigger when there’s nothing in the way, you can expect this experience to bring new possibilities into view.
We can't wait to help you see your world from here!
COVID Precautions and Travel to Sonora State
An Outdoor adventure: Except for our shuttle to Kino Bay, this is an outdoor adventure. We will establish common practices for social distancing without masks while on Isla Tiburon. Everyone will have their own tent for sleeping accommodations.
Flights: As of this writing (October 1, 2021), US arrivals to Hermosillo (HSO) transit through Phoenix. You must wear a mask on US-based air carriers and inside US air-transit hubs. Have proof of vaccination and you will not need to show a negative COVID test or quarantine when you disembark in Mexico. For your return to the USA, you will need a negative COVID antigen or PCR test within 72 hours of departure from HSO. These are readily available in Hermosillo, the Sonoran capital.
Testing if you feel symptoms: We will have rapid testing capabilities on site should you come down with symptoms of COVID.
The Itinerary
DAY 1:
We meet in Hermosillo, Sonora (Mexico). Arrive the day before our program starts and we will shuttle by charter bus the next morning to Kino Bay, a mainland fishing village on the Sea of Cortez.
From there we'll go by motor launch to our camp on Isla Tiburon, a refuge of sheltered coves, mangrove forests, and endless beaches. You'll take a warm-up swim and be introduced to sea kayaking.
The evening meal will be our first chance to take a deep breath and share our hopes and dreams for the expedition. Imagine yourself watching the twilight settle around our campfire as you consider what you really want from this experience.
DAY 2, 3, 4:
Isla Tiburon is best known as the largest island in Mexico. It's also the homeland of the Seri tribe, an indigenous group that holds this biological reserve as their patrimony. As their guests, you're invited to kayak its inlets, explore its tidal channels, and snorkel its coastal waters.
Our coaches are seasoned outdoor leaders, the best in the business. You'll love where you get to go! Along the way, you can expect our adventure to include enrichment, from tips on the foundations of true happiness, to coaching questions for answers that point you to change. You'll settle your thoughts and grow a sense of possibility with fire-lit evening conversations and the serenity of star-lit night skies.
Day 5:
Our exploration of Isla Tiburon concludes with a capstone experience as we set a course back to civilization. We'll celebrate our time together, highlight the gifts you have opened, and enable your discoveries to take you home.
